All steam power has been restored to Michigan State University.
Infrastructure and Planning Facilities brought the steam distribution network back online for all impacted buildings on campus, according to a campuswide email sent at 5:28 p.m. on Monday. All residence halls are back online, and mobile shower units have been disconnected and will be removed from campus.
Some buildings still need additional recovery before becoming fully functional, including hot water and heat restoration and water intrusion repairs.
MSU first lost electricity and steam power on Sept. 19 after the T.B. Simon Power Plant experienced a central connection point failure that resulted in a campuswide power outage.
“The University appreciates the patience, flexibility and partnership of the campus community as IPF crews worked to bring this large and complex system back online,” the email said.
