2026 Grammys red carpet best and boldest looks

February 5, 2026

One of the biggest nights in the music industry has transformed into a fashion show that leaves fans gasping and awing at their favorite creator's attire. Year after year controversies stem from the red carpet with onlookers critiquing everything from the shoes to the makeup looks. Leaving one question on the front of everyone's minds: who gets the Grammy for best dressed?

This year the fashion at the 68th annual Grammy Awards has grasped global attention for being bold, daring, and stylish. One of the best looks of the night came from popstar Sabrina Carpenter wearing a custom Valentino naked gown.

The gown had a floral print adorned in sequins and pearls that paired perfectly with the tiered ruffed tulle skirt. She brought the whole look together by keeping her famous blonde hair and curtain bangs in an updo which allowed Carpenter's minimal makeup look to pop. After her performance she changed into another custom two-piece Valentino set, this time encrusted with silver gems.

One singer who had heads turning and left social media spiraling over her burgundy gown was none other than Chappell Roan. The sheer Mugler gown was draped across her body exposing her bare front and upper back tattoos, with it only being supported by nipple rings. This caused quite a commotion amongst viewers; it’s not every day that a female artist is practically nude on the red carpet. Her fiery red hair was styled in a mix of big bouncy curls and braids. Roan's Midwest princess tattoos were the icing on this already jaw-dropping moment.

Many artists leaned into designs featuring feathers and the colors black and white for their looks this year. Olivia Dean, who was awarded the Grammy for Best New Artist, was among the many that sported this look on the red carpet. In a custom black and white sequined dress designed by Chanel, she brought back the 2010s high-low hem, but in the best way.

The bodice of the dress is simple in the way that it features hundreds of black sequins before cascading into a flowing white skirt with black and white feathers separating at the waistline. This gorgeous dress paired with matching black and white heels, Tiffany & Co. dangling diamond earrings and matching diamond rings left a mark on the carpet.

Following along with this black and white trend was Lady Gaga who showed up in a gothic, feathered black mermaid gown by Matières Fécales. Gaga’s bleach blonde hair contrasted perfectly with the trail of feathers that crept up to her chin and flowed out in a dramatic train. This style is very reminiscent of her most recent album Mayhem, and very much earns her a spot at the top of the best-dressed list.

Another artist that took inspiration from her most recent album was Zara Larsson in a two-piece sparkly golden yellow custom-made set by Germanier. The bra had an asymmetrical shoulder strap with golden beaded flowers sewed on top of the yellow sequins. The skirt mirrored the top, the waistline sat low on her hips showcasing her abs. Keeping her bright blonde hair in her iconic curls and having a pinker makeup look made her outfit stand out amongst the neutral, monotone color trend the carpet saw all night.

Some of the other colorful gowns seen on the red carpet include singers Doechii in dark purple Roberto Cavalli, Laufey in lilac Miu Miu, PinkPantheress in a draped multicolor Vivienne Westwood and Kelsea Ballerini in a gold beaded halter dress.

Although traditionally the female fashion outshines the men, many male artists stepped up their game this year. Bad Bunny, Kendrick Lamar, Sombr, Malice, Pusha T and Pharrell Williams were stand outs. All the artists took the iconic suit and tie and allowed their personality to shine through. On the men's side of the carpet there was a huge trend of sporting suits that featured velvet materials in all sorts of colors.

With the Grammy Awards having such a large audience, many of the artists took this as their opportunity to speak out on the current political climate. This was largely done by wearing “ICE OUT” pins in order to protest the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and support the citizens of Minneapolis in the face of the ongoing conflict. Justin and Hailey Bieber, Kehlani, Billie Eilish, Bon Iver, and Kesha were among the many musicians wearing a pin. Although a large number of winners would go on to speak out against ICE within their acceptance speeches later in the night.

Even though the 68th annual Grammy Awards have come to an end, we are still in the midst of awards season which means the crazy, gorgeous, and jaw-dropping outfits are nowhere close to being done. But for now, the Grammy for best dressed goes to…
