Eight freshmen and three transfer students are joining Michigan State women’s soccer in the highest ranked recruiting class in program history.
The six freshmen from the United States were named the No. 8 class nationally by TopDrawerSoccer. The two Canadian freshmen, who will join MSU’s already strong Canadian contingent, and the three transfers were not included in the ranking but will add depth and pedigree to head coach Jeff Hosler’s roster.
With 11 new and 18 returning players, Hosler’s squad looks set to continue on their legacy by keeping the majority of starters and adding talent in weaker areas. The Spartans came close to multiple trophies, coming second in the Big Ten conference and tournament both and making it to the NCAA Elite Eight. Hosler will hope his new athletes can help his team over the line.
The incoming freshmen set to join the Spartans include forward Saydie Hebert, midfielder Elise Karas, forward Lacey Kindel, midfielder Jocelyn “LG” Pearcy, goalkeeper Samantha Powell, midfielder Mekenzie Rogers, defender Olivia Rubinich and forward Josie Willis.
The transfer students joining the Spartans are junior defender Jasmine Boggs from Tennessee, junior forward Faith George from USC and graduate goalkeeper Bella Schopp from Brown.
Players transferring from Michigan State to join other colleges include junior forward Adelle Franics who joined Kansas State, freshman goalkeeper Kennedy Zorn who joined Arizona State, freshman forward Abbey Dalton who joined Mississippi State,
Jasmine Boggs
Junior defender Jasmine Boggs transferred from Tennessee where she appeared in 29 games over two years. Before her collegiate career, Boggs was ranked as the No. 16 midfielder and No. 32 defender in the country by TopDrawerSoccer. She attended the U.S. Soccer U-16 National Camp and played for the Virginia Development Academy.
Faith George
Junior forward Faith George transferred from USC, where she recorded five goals and five assists over two seasons, won the 2024 Big Ten Championship and was named to the 2024 All-Freshman team. George appeared in 40 games during her time as a Trojan, making 24 starts. She hails from a soccer family, with her father, sister and uncle all playing professionally, along with several cousins who competed at the collegiate level. George was a 2023 Gatorade State Player of the Year nominee and was ranked the No. 19 recruit in Southern California prior to college.
Saydie Hebert
Freshman forward Saydie Hebert is a three-star prospect and the No. 41 forward nationally, according to TopDrawerSoccer. A native of Gilbert, Arizona, Hebert has played three seasons of varsity soccer at Perry High School, earning honorable mention all-region as a freshman and all-Arizona honors in each of the past two seasons. She attended the U.S. Soccer U-15 Youth National Team camp in 2023.
Her uncle, Ty Detmer, played in the NFL and starred at BYU, where he won the Heisman Trophy in 1990.
Elise Karas
Freshman midfielder Elise Karas from Columbus, Ohio comes into the squad as a three-star prospect and the No. 65 midfielder in the country. She is enrolled for the 2026 Spring semester to begin her college career. In her junior year of high school, she earned Central Ohio Women’s Soccer Player of the Year, OCC First Team All-Conference and Player of the Year, First Team All-State, First Team All-Region and All-American honors.
Lacey Kindel
Freshman forward Lacey Kindel joins MSU’s contingent of Canadians from Coquitlam, British Columbia. Kindel has competed within the Canadian national team setup, participating in the 2024 CONCACAF U-15 Championship, where Canada finished third, and at the FIFA U-17 qualifiers and World Cup in Morocco in October 2025, where the team reached the quarterfinals.
Kindel started four of five matches at the World Cup, recording one goal and two assists. She plays for Vancouver Rise U-18 in the newly formed Northern Super League and attends the same high school as fellow recruit Samantha Powell.
Jocelyn "LG" Pearcy
Freshman midfielder Jocelyn Pearcy is another three-star prospect and is ranked as the No. 17 midfielder nationally. She was named ECNL Girls NorCal First Team All-Conference in both 2023 and 2025, and earned second team selection in 2024. Pearcy was named the ECNL NorCal U-15 Player of the Year and All-American in 2022-23. Pearcy earned a Gothia Cup title in Sweden with the NorCal U16 state PDP team in 2024.

Samantha Powell
Freshman goalkeeper Samantha Powell is the latest addition to the growing number of Canadians playing in green and white. Powell has found success with the Canadian youth national teams, earning selection to the U-17 squad for the 2025 Four Nations Cup and winning a bronze medal at the U-15 CONCACAF Championship.
She played for Vancouver Rise and qualified for the 2024 and 2025 CONCACAF Women’s Cup, where she became the youngest goalkeeper to take the field at age 16. Powell attends Burnaby Central High School with Kindel.
Mekenzie Rogers
Freshman midfielder Mekenzie Rogers is the only four-star prospect in the recruiting class and is ranked the No. 1 player in the Midwest, according to TopDrawerSoccer. Rogers trained with the U.S. U-17 Women’s Youth National Team in the summer of 2025 and was invited to the NWSL Gotham FC Winter Talent ID Showcase, preseason camp in early 2025 and a May training camp. She was also selected for the inaugural NWSL Youth Combine at IMG Academy in December 2025.
Although she played just one season of varsity soccer at Burlington Central High School, Rogers scored 37 goals and added nine assists.
Olivia Rubinich
Freshman defender Olivia Rubinich is another three-star recruit and the No. 19 defender. She is the only freshman joining the defensive line. Runinich was invited to the Gotham FC Development Center Team in 2025.
Rubinich helped Penn Fusion win the 2024 U-16 ECNL national championship, reach the national finals in 2023 and qualify for the Sweet Sixteen in 2025. She was a 2023 ECNL All-American and the North Atlantic Conference Player of the Year.
Bella Schopp
Graduate goalkeeper Bella Schopp joins MSU after four successful seasons at Brown, where she started for most of her collegiate career. She posted a 1.09 goals-against average and a .647 save percentage in her final season and earned a spot on the All-Ivy Tournament Team as a junior.
Schopp helped Brown win its league-leading 15th Ivy League title as a freshman, starting most games, and its 16th championship during her sophomore season. She also earned All-Ivy honorable mention honors as a freshman.
Josie Willis
Freshman forward Josie Willis is another three-star rated prospect, hailing from San Diego. She helped San Diego Surf to win Surf Cup titles in 2020, 2021, 2023 and 2024. Willis plays high school soccer for San Marco, where she has won accolades such as All-CIF San Diego, Palomar League Player of the Year, two-time Palomar League First Team selection and 2023 San Marcos Newcomer of the Year.
With a mix of top recruits, experienced transfers and a standout graduate addition, MSU’s 2026 women’s soccer class brings depth, talent and proven pedigree to the Spartans’ roster.
