Following a 1-0 shutout of Penn State on the road Sept. 22, MSU women's soccer graduate goalkeeper Kaitlyn Parks was named NCAA Player of the Week Wednesday.
MSU's starting keeper managed 11 saves against the Nittany Lions, propelling MSU to another clean sheet. Parks’ heroics also helped maintain the Spartans’ undefeated record of 8-0-2, the best start through 10 games in program history.
Parks' performance at Penn State marked MSU's sixth shutout in 10 games. She was also named Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Week on Tuesday.
Head coach Jeff Hosler and MSU find themselves in the No. 1 spot of the US Soccer Coaches Poll for the first time in program history following their historic start.
MSU returns to action on Sept. 26 in Columbus, OH against Ohio State at 7 p.m.
