Michigan State women’s volleyball fifth year libero Nalani Iosia was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week on Monday for the second time in her career.

Iosia helped MSU go undefeated this past weekend in the Kathy DeBoer Invitational, where the Spartans beat Western Kentucky, Marist and Loyola Chicago. Iosia tallied 56 digs across all three games and had a 73% positive pass rate.

Iosia joins Allyson Karaba, Alexis Mathews and Kori Moster as the only Spartans in history to be honored with at least two Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week awards.

Last season, Iosia earned the same honor after the Kathy DeBoer Invitational, in which she won MVP.

Michigan State will play Western Michigan on Wednesday, Sept. 11 at 6 p.m. at Breslin Center.
