The Neighborhood Student Success Center River Trail/MASP Neighborhood, in collaboration with the Owen Hall student government, is holding a De-stress for Success event for students to relax while preparing for the final weeks of the spring semester.

The event is tomorrow at the McDonel Hall Kiva from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

“The hope and plan is that students will come and have fun, laugh, and feel relaxed while learning (or be reminded of) strategies and resources to manage stress or anxiety they may feel during the final two weeks of the semester and to share a reminder to finish strong,” Director of Student Success Jodi Roberto Hancock said in an email to the State News. “There will be many different activities and resources to cater to a diverse group of students.”

The event will include:

  • Duck Days
  • An opportunity for students to get LinkedIn headshots taken
  • Campus resources
  • BINGO
  • Therapy dogs
  • Self-care therapy trivia wheel
  • An appearance from MSU mascot Sparty
  • Chair massages
  • Hand reflexology
  • Tarot card readings
  • Cotton candy and ice cream

Hancock said the event is also an end-of-semester celebration, acknowledging the work and effort students have put in so far.

“I personally hope they also leave with a new memory of this year at MSU,” Hancock said.

Additional support will be provided by Health Promotion, Engagement, Accessibility and Accommodations, MSU Career Services and MSU Police & Public Safety. Other departments will be present with resource tables including Counseling & Psychiatric Services, Eat at State, University Advising and the College of Nursing.
