With Isaline Alexander making a quick start for Michigan State by winning the tip off, the team was able to run the ball down the court for a quick two from graduate student guard Moira Joiner, but the Titans were quick to retaliate.

Though Detroit Mercy quickly brought their A-game, the Titans quickly laid three fouls on the court, giving the Spartans the opportunity to take the lead in the game. The team was quick to aggressively play on both sides of the court from their defensive breakdowns and their quick rebounds to try their best to get ahead.

While with less than two minutes left in the first quarter, the Titans were able to make an attempt at tying the game at 17 before the break, but sophomore guard Abbey Kimball connected to the hoop for a nothing but net three pointer. The Spartans were able to lead by a hair with the score of 20-17 headed into the second quarter.

The Spartans started the second period with possession, but the ball was quickly turned to UDM. The Titans offensive attempt was unsuccessful, and the Spartans were able to take it back down to score the first of the second quarter after a smooth layup from Alexander.

The green and white were able to take a quick steady five point lead against UDM in the second as the threes started coming naturally for MSU, and the team saw extreme consistency from beyond the arc.

Joiner was able to put up a three to beat the buzzer with two seconds left in the first half, putting the Spartans up by 25 points with a score of 53-27 before both teams headed to the locker room.

Flying into the third, the Spartans came out swinging yet again as junior guard DeeDee Hagemann was able to sink another three pointer for another hot start.

Michigan State was quickly able to get ahead by just over 30 points after another breakaway for them from Hagemann where she was able to fight to put up two and then hit her second three-pointer in the third quarter. 

Spartan possession was high through the third quarter, maintaining the ball for a majority of the quarter where they scored 26 points and absolutely dominated through the whole 10 minutes of play only allowing the Titans for seven points. 

The final quarter yet again brought great scoring opportunities for the green and white as they quickly carried themselves into the 80 point mark within the first minute and a half of the final quarter.

The Titans tried their best to fight through their offensive zone, but there was no stopping MSU as they rebounded almost every shot UDM put up and retaliated anything the opponents put onto the board.

Without missing a single beat, the Spartans took charge of a tight first quarter and turned the game into domination with a final score in the fourth of 105-44.

Hagemann led the Spartans in scoring with a total of 24 points over the course of the four quarters. 

The team is back at the Breslin Center on Sunday at 1 p.m. for another matchup against the Evansville Purple Aces on Big Ten Plus hoping to keep their undefeated record going.
