In a quick turnaround of events, MSU Football redshirt junior defensive lineman Simeon Barrow Jr. is withdrawing his name from the transfer portal, interim head coach Harlon Barnett said during his radio show Thursday night.
Barnett announced on Monday during his weekly press conference that there was someone who expressed his consideration to enter the portal after discussions had lingered for multiple weeks. Barrow Jr. was that player, and he entered the transfer portal a day later on Tuesday along with senior offensive tackle Keyshawn Blackstock.
The decision didn’t last long, as Barrow Jr. withdrew his name from the portal and will return back to the Spartans roster to close out the season.
The Spartans have lost four players to the portal since the coaching change. Each player was granted a 30-day transfer window that began on Sep. 27. The rest of MSU’s players will have to wait until the official end of the season to decide if they want to remain at Michigan State, as the national transfer portal will open then.
