Michigan State football officially won the recruitment battle of 2024 quarterback Henry Hasselback, who is the son of former NFL pro-bowler Matt Hasselback, as the three-star QB announced his decision via social media on Friday evening.
MSU beat out his dads alma mater Boston College, as well as Arizona, Pittsburgh and Georgia Tech for the commitment of the younger Hasselbeck. Prior to his pledge to the green and white, Henry Hasselback was gearing up to join the lacrosse team for Maryland.
Matt Hasselback was selected in the sixth round of the 1998 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers. Later in his career, he led the Seattle Seahawks to the 2006 Super Bowl. He was selected to the Pro Bowl three times throughout his career.
Henry is the tenth Spartan commit of the 2024 cycle, with four-star running back Anthony Carrie rounding out the list. As the summer enters July, decisions loom for some of MSU's top prospects in the coming weeks.
