Michigan State junior defensive back Charles Brantley has withdrawn his name from the transfer portal after entering Sunday. The news was confirmed by a team spokesperson.

Earlier today, Charles Brantley tweeted,“Loyalty out values everything.”

The 6-foot, 170-pound athlete was one of the three starters that initially entered the portal Sunday, including redshirt senior quarterback Payton Thorne and junior wide receiver Keon Coleman.

Brantley has played in 19 career games, with 12 starts, including starting in all 11 games he played this past season. One of his most notable plays was his interception against the University of Michigan in October 2021 to win the nail-biting game. Brantley has two years of eligibility left and will be a necessity next season as the Spartans hope to bounce back from their 5-7 record during the 2022 season.
