As a shooter terrorized the university’s campus last month, Michigan State University’s Department of Police and Public Safety, or DPPS, was assisted by first responders from 72 law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical service agencies.
DPPS thanked responders in a letter Wednesday, saying “many of the agencies came to campus to provide life-saving measures without question and without being asked.”
Officers came from across Michigan – as far east as Auburn Hills and as far west as Grand Rapids – and from federal agencies including the U.S. Border Patrol, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Department of Homeland Security.
