Not only will Friday at 6:30 p.m. entail a weekend matchup between No. 24 Michigan State and No. 22 Indiana, but also will showcase Senior Night under a home packed crowd at Jenison Field House.

Seniors receiving their recognition for their years of hard work and display of Spartan grit include Ryan Vasbinder, Skyler Crespo, Rayvon Foley, Peyton OmaniaBenny Gomez, Miles Hoey, Cameron Monzadeh and Cameron Caffey. All of which have had great wrestling careers for the green and white, and have provided entertainment to the Spartan faithful for notable years.

Last matchup for the Spartans went south by a hair, losing 17-16 to the Fighting Illini. However, the Spartans did showcase some incredible spurts on the offensive. Caffey absolutely showed his senior talent in the last seconds of the 197 matchup, obtaining a variety of points while being down a significant lead beforehand. He ended up winning his bout against the Fighting Illini henceforth.

Caffey is definitely a wrestler to keep eyes on again in this next matchup against the Indiana Hoosiers. He finishes his career with not only a winning ratio, but also as a wrestler with one of the most wins in Michigan State history.

On the other end of the mat are the Hoosiers. 7-3 overall, they’re coming off of a rather tough loss to Penn State, 35-8. This will be the 81st time the Hoosiers and the Spartans butt heads with each other over the course of college wrestling history. MSU took the last meeting, a 17-15 win in Bloomington last season.

Hoosier redshirt junior D.J. Washington will be the one to look out for on the Indiana side of things. Washington is ranked 15th nationally for the 174-pound class and serves to be a problem for all teams he faces, with a record of 13-9 overall last year, and 6-3 in duals. Not to mention, he started his sophomore season 10-0.

Adults who wish to attend this night in East Lansing can do so for $5, children and seniors for $3. For those who can’t make it, streaming is available on Big Ten Plus.
