The Michigan State women’s basketball game set for 7 p.m. Wednesday night has been moved up to 4:30 p.m. due to inclement weather as confirmed by Kara Fisher, a spokesperson for the team. Doors at the Breslin Center will now open at 3:30 p.m.
The National Weather Service issued an ice storm warning for parts of Michigan including Ingham County midday Wednesday. The ice storm warning will be in effect until 4 a.m. on Thursday. The storm is predicted to impact travel primarily for Wednesday night and could potentially cause power outages.
"Due to the severity of weather conditions, Michigan State athletics encourages fans to be overly cautious if choosing to attend," Fisher said in an email Wednesday afternoon.
The Spartans will be taking on the Minnesota Golden Gophers for their final home matchup of the season Wednesday night. Senior forward Jayla James, graduate student guards Kamaria McDaniel and Stephanie Visscher will be honored during the game against the Gophers for MSU's annual senior night celebration.
