Woodruff nominated Thomas Jeitschko as interim provost during the Board of Trustees meeting on Friday, Dec. 16, 2022 at the Hannah Administration Building.

Michigan State University will be offering a Credit/No Credit grade reporting option for all undergraduate courses for the entire semester following Monday's mass shooting, according to an email sent to faculty members from interim provost Thomas Jeitschko.

Undergraduates can use the No Credit/Credit grading option in any 100-to 400-level course, with an entire semester to make that selection.

MSU Police and Public Safety along with the East Lansing Police Department will be providing additional support to the university, including a greater presence on campus, according to the email.

Students will return to classes on Monday, Feb. 20. Jeitschko recommends faculty adjust expectations for themselves and students by amending syllabus expectations, moving or dropping assignments and avoiding “heavy lifts” such as scheduling tests too soon after the return to classes.

Faculty has also been instructed to not attempt to make up for lost time, or to scramble to catch up.
