Michigan State University is working to move all classes out of Berkey Hall and the MSU Union for the remainder of the spring semester following the Monday night mass shooting, deputy spokesperson Dan Olsen confirmed Wednesday.

In an email to faculty Wednesday, interim provost and vice president for academic affairs Thomas Jeitschko said no classes will be held in either building once classes resume on Monday, Feb. 20. The university will share more information once new locations are determined.

"We are identifying how we can best support you and your students to transition to another classroom," Jeitschko said in the email. "We will find new spaces for you to come together with your students."

Jeitschko's email included information for the MSU Employee Assistance Program, Counseling and Psychiatric Services and resources for teaching after a crisis.

"Despite my deep sadness, as I experience our campus coming together in response and the genuine and generous support from colleagues around the world, I have confidence that we will navigate this situation together, to support each other and our students," Jeitschko said in the email.
