East Lansing High School was placed on a shelter-in-place lockdown at 10 a.m. this morning as a report of an on-site weapon was investigated.

Students remained in their classrooms during the lockdown.

According to the East Lansing Community Council, parent-teacher organization, the administration confirmed the shelter in place was lifted at 11:40 a.m.

“At this time, our investigation is complete and we have determined that there is no threat or weapon on the campus. We have been working with ELPD and central office since the shelter in place began to determine if any reports of a weapon on campus were credible and at this time we have no evidence that they are,” the council's post read.

School will not be dismissed early, and students will continue their regularly-scheduled classes.

ELPD Capt. Chad Pride did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
