With stories, experiences, and expressions showcased through dance, CTRL+A strives to celebrate diversity and expresses Asian Pacific Islander Desi American experiences while advocating for the APIDA community at Michigan State University.

"CTRL+A is a very fun and energetic club, and it makes everyone feel welcome," fundraising chair Gabi Murphy said. "It is like its own family, but you still are able to do performances and show off yourself."

CTRL+A marketing chair Jeneia Dinglasan said CTRL+A assisted her in creating an expressional outlet for her identity that she previously didn't have before coming to college.

"People who don't necessarily come from an Asian background but are interested in Asian culture (can join in) celebrating it and being more of a family than just a dance group," Dinglasan said.

CTRL+A holds monthly workshops open to all. January's workshop is Wednesday, Jan. 25, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Mosaic Room on the 2nd floor at the Union. Along with monthly workshops, students can catch CTRL+A performing at APASO'S Annual Cultural Vogue on Jan. 28. The event starts at 6:30 p.m. in the Wharton Center.

There's also an event to celebrate CTRL+A's fifth anniversary.

'I'm most excited about the fifth anniversary," CTRL+A president Phuong-Lan Dang said. "I get to see alumni who have just graduated as well as seeing alumni and member connections being made."

The event will take place on April 15 at The Cadillac Room in Lansing, Michigan. The celebration will bring together past alumni, current members, and supporters all together to enjoy performances, food, and the growth of the group throughout the years.

Dang said CTRL+A is a home away from home for her, where everyone is always there for each other.

"I'm able to express my own culture, showcase it to who may not know what my culture and ethnicity is," Dang said.
