Four players of the Michigan State men's soccer team were honored by the Big Ten Friday.

Freshman forward Jonathan Stout was named Big Ten Co-Freshman of the Year and received unanimous All-Freshman Team honors.

Stout, a Michigan native, is the first MSU player to be awarded the title since midfielder Giuseppe Barone earned the accolade in 2016.

Stout led the team with four goals over the season, and his four assists ranked second among the Spartans.

aFellow teammate J tallied one goal and one assist over three games this season. This is the first time since 2018 that MSU has had two players receive All-Freshman Team honors.

Freshman forward Jake Spadafora was also named to the All-Freshman Team alongside Stout. Spadafora had one goal and one assist in 15 games while making 13 starts. It's the first time since 2018 that MSU has had two selections on the Big Ten All-Freshman Team.

Graduate goalkeeper Owen Finnerty also received recognition for Michigan State, earning his first All-Big Ten honors with a placement on the Second Team.

Finnerty leads the Big Ten in saves, racking up 74 through the duration of the season and a .733 save percentage.

Sophomore defender Josh Adam was one of nine in the Big Ten taking home the Sportsmanship Award.

The team will take on No. 18 Ohio State in Colombus, Ohio for the first round of the Big Ten Tournament tonight at 7 p.m. OSU's Laurence Wootton won Midfielder of the Year and Keagan McLaughlin earned Goalkeeper of the Year.
