Rally House on Grand River Avenue has expanded into the previous Urban Outfitters location next door.
The sports merchandise and clothing store was able to start moving into the property in September and opened doors Oct. 7, said store manager Zach Hiscock.
The former Urban Outfitters side, located at 119 Grand River Ave., holds mostly men’s wear and sporting goods, while the original space now houses women’s and kids’ apparel.
Urban Outfitters moved to Eastwood Towne Center last fall, and the space has remained unused since. Hiscock said it took a couple of weeks to set up the space to move in merchandise.
So far he says the reaction from customers has been positive, and there has been a lot of surprise about how big the store has become.
“From what I've heard from people, a lot of people are shocked and all that," Hiscock said. "Like, ‘Holy cow, it's so huge.'”
In addition to the added space next door, the extended property has a large basement as well.
“Then they see the basement and they're just like, ‘Wow, I didn't know there was this much State stuff,'" Hiscock said. "Well, pretty much anything that you can think of Michigan State, we're gonna have it."
Rally House is located at 115 E Grand River Ave. and opened in East Lansing in 2016. It is open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
