Kenneth Walker III was selected in the 2nd round of the NFL draft by the Seattle Seahawks. He was the second running back drafted behind Iowa State’s Breece Hall.

Walker is MSU’s highest drafted player since Malik McDowell was selected with the 35th pick in 2017 by the Seahawks and Jack Conklin was selected eighth overall in 2016 by the Titans. He will immediately add a home run element to the offense with his lightning-quick cuts and breakaway speed.

Walker was the best running back in college football last season, winning the Doak Walker Award and Walter Camp Player of the Year after rushing for 1,636 yards and 19 total touchdowns in his one and only season at Michigan State.

He was the headliner of MSU’s 20-player addition through the transfer portal last offseason and the results were immediate, helping lift MSU to a 10-2 record and reinvigorating the offense. Before he joined MSU, Walker played two seasons at Wake Forest and ran for 1,158 yards and 17 touchdowns as a Demon Deacon.

Walker is the first Spartan drafted since defensive end Kenny Willekes was drafted by the Vikings in the seventh round in 2020.
