Junior forward Julius Marble II drives past sophomore center Zach Edey during No. 4 Purdue's loss to Michigan State on Feb. 26, 2022, at the Breslin Center.

Junior center Julius Marble II has submitted the paperwork to enter the transfer portal.

The news was first announced by Stephen Brooks of 24/7 Sports via Twitter and later confirmed by a Michigan State spokesperson. Marble joins junior guard Davis Smith and freshman forward Peter Nwoke as the third player to transfer out of Michigan State this offseason.

Marble averaged 6.4 points per game and 3.3 rebounds per game in a 2021-22 season that saw him emerge as one of the Spartans’ most reliable offensive talents down the stretch. He posted his career-high with 18 points in Northwestern on Jan. 15.

With his decision to transfer and senior center Marcus Bingham Jr.’s departure last month, sophomore center Mady Sissoko remains as the last true big on the roster. It's likely Michigan State will look to remedy this problem in the near future via the transfer portal.
