Freshman guard Max Christie has been named to the All-Big Ten freshman team.

After averaging 9.3 points per game and 3.4 rebounds per game in his first season of college basketball, Christie joined the likes of Ohio State freshman guard Malaki Branham, Nebraska freshman guard Bryce McGowens, Wisconsin freshman guard Chucky Hepburn and Michigan freshman forward Moussa Diabate on the All-Big Ten freshman team. Branham was selected as the consensus Big Ten Freshman of the Year.

In addition to Christie's honor, senior forward Gabe Brown (11.5 points per game) was announced as an All-Big Ten third-team selection. Brown and junior forward Malik Hall (9.6 points per game) were also All-Big Ten honorable mentions.
