Three-star quarterback in the class of 2023 Bo Edmundson committed to Michigan State today, moving the recruiting class ranking up four spots from nine to five nationally, according to 24/7sports.
Spartans take another leap in the 2023 recruiting rankings with the commitment of quarterback Bo Edmundson
Edmundson, a 6'3", 195-pound QB out of Austin, Texas is ranked as the 22nd best QB in the state and 71st overall player.
He had offers from the likes of Penn State, Oklahoma State, Kentucky and others but opted for the Spartans after spending time on campus two weekends ago.
He comes from the 6-A Texas high school football powerhouse Lake Travis where he tallied 3,239 passing yards on a 62 percent completion percentage along with a thirty-eight to nine touchdown-to-interception ratio during his junior season.
A number of prominent NFL QB talent has been developed there, notably Cleveland Browns starting QB Baker Mayfield.
He is the first and only quarterback for the 2023 class so far, but once he gets on campus he will have to fight for a spot with redshirt sophomore Payton Thorne possibly returning for his redshirt junior season and four-star early enrollee Katin Houser filling out the depth chart.
Edmundson joins fellow 2023 three-star center Johnathan Slack and four stars Andrew Depaepe (defensive end), Kedrick Reescano (running back) and Brennan Parachek (tight end).
The Spartans are off to a hot start to the 2023 recruiting trail with lots of time left to go.
