Michigan State University Police and Public Safety, or MSUPD, responded to a report of sexual assault on MSU's campus on Jan. 23.

The assault occurred at Mayo Hall between the hours of midnight and 3 a.m. in the survivor's dorm room.

The suspect was described as an unknown male, with tan skin, curly hair and 5'9" tall.

"Detectives with the MSU Police Special Victims Unit are conducting a detailed and thorough investigation," MSUPD Inspector Chris Rozman said in a Jan. 24 email statement. "Special Victims Unit detectives have training specifically to conduct investigations in a trauma informed and supportive manner to ensure that all survivors are treated with courtesy, dignity, and respect. Because this is an active investigation we are not able to share any other details at this time."

If you have any information regarding this incident, please contact MSUPD at 517-355-2221, or 911 for emergencies/crimes in progress.

For non-emergency crime tips, text the word MSUPD, along with your message to 274637.
