MSU's Main Library sits on West Circle Dr. and is an incredible resource for students, faculty and local residents alike. The library's four floors contain study spaces, a writing center, publishing and print services, and thousands of books and resources.

The Department of Student Affairs at Michigan State University is sponsoring over 20 scholarships for current students for the upcoming 2022-23 school year.

The scholarships are intended to help assist the financial burden tuition places on many MSU students and are offered for many different student demographics including parents, LGBTQ+ students, veterans, among several others.

“Student Affairs had these scholarships for years and you just need to be a student at MSU that qualifies for whatever the criteria for whatever the different criteria for the different scholarships are whether its leadership, or GPA, or something to that effect,” Assistant Vice President for Student Involvement and Leadership Allyn Shaw said.

The deadline to apply for scholarships from Student Affairs is March 14, and applicants should expect to hear back about their application results by mid-April.

All current students are encouraged to look on the student affairs website for a scholarship(s) that suits their demographics and needs, and will all be given equal consideration among their peers.

To look for scholarships and apply, simply go to the Student Affairs website, click on the section titled “Living, Learning, Leading,” and then click on “Scholarships in Student Affairs.”

Each scholarship, offering thousands of dollars in awards, has its own criteria to apply and be accepted. It is recommended that students read each scholarship’s description carefully before applying. However, the only mandatory criteria a student must meet is being a current MSU student.

Shaw said the scholarships are designed specifically to be easily accessible to students and have a quick and navigable application process.

“We’re hoping to make it as easy for the students as possible, so you can apply right online and then all the different scholarship committees will start reading late March, and students should know mid-April if they receive one or not.” Shaw said.

For more information about scholarships, look on the Student Affairs website, or contact the department or contact the Student Affairs and Services directly.
