Ranked No. 70 nationally and No. 10 in his position group by 247Sports.com, Holloman took his official visit on June 2. Kohler, ranked No. 66 and No. 11 in his position group, took his official visit on Sept. 11. Holloman announced his initial commitment on Aug. 7 while Kohler announced his on Sept. 19.

“Tre is a kid that had actually been a two-sport guy, he played football, he’s played basketball," Michigan State men's basketball Head Coach Tom Izzo said in a release. “He was recruited in both, so a man of my heart. But in Tre, we think we’ve got a competitive guy who can run the point, who can distribute the ball, who can guard the world, and has improved his shooting each and every year. So, we’re very excited about getting Tre and think he’s going to be a big part of our future.”

Holloman, a native of Saint Paul, Minnesota, and a student at Cretin Derham Hall, also had offers from Marquette, Baylor, Dayton and Illinois. Kohler, a native of Mount Pleasant, Utah and a student at Southern California Academy, fielded interest from Iowa, USC, BYU and Grand Canyon.

“He’s a post player, ala the Zach Randolph’s, for us, of the world, a guy with incredible footwork and size, can really score the basketball, and a guy that, when he was on campus, everybody kind of connected with him," Izzo said “So, we’re very excited to get Jaxon. We think he can be a multi-dimensional scorer. He can score inside, he can score outside. He’s a very good passer with a high basketball IQ.”

At 6'2" and 175 pounds, Holloman averaged 20.3 points per game, 9.3 assists per game and 4.6 rebounds per game as a junior and is known for his scoring prowess, court vision and strong defense. Meanwhile, Kohler, 6'9" and 250 pounds, is renowned for his abilities in the low post and scoring versatility regardless of position on the floor.
