Michigan State stays put at No. 7 in latest College Football Playoff Rankings

The Spartans took care of business last Saturday, defeating Maryland 40-21 at Spartan Stadium. All of the teams previously ranked ahead of MSU won, resulting in minimal shuffling at the top of the College Football Playoff Rankings including Michigan State, remaining at the No. 7 slot.

Many Michigan State fans were appalled last week to see MSU ranked one spot behind Michigan in the CFP Rankings. The two teams shared the same record and were just two weeks removed from a head-to-head matchup with the Spartans prevailing in East Lansing. Still, the CFP committee saw the Wolverines as the superior team and with both teams winning last week, the committee stood firm ranking Michigan one spot ahead of Michigan State.

Elsewhere in the Big Ten, MSU's upcoming opponent, Ohio State, stayed put at No. 4, while Wisconsin moved up three spots to No. 15 and Iowa also moved up three spots to No. 18.
