Michigan State has just received its first transfer of the 2021-2022 offseason. Former Wisconsin running back Jalen Berger announced via Twitter that he is committed to Michigan State.

The redshirt freshman entered the transfer portal after being cut from Wisconsin for undisclosed reasons. Berger entered college as a four-star recruit from Ramsey, New Jersey.

Berger is the first player to commit to the Spartans in this transfer portal. Head Coach Mel Tucker was aggressive in upping the talent on the roster via the portal last offseason and Berger is the first domino for MSU this year.

Michigan State has had four players enter the transfer portal this year. Linebacker Chase Kline and cornerback Kalon Gervin entered their names in the portal midseason. Defensive backs Michael Dowell and Emmanuel Flowers have put their name in the portal following the season finale against Penn State.
