Michigan State moved up to No. 5 in the AP Poll, leapfrogging Michigan, Oregon and Ohio State after knocking off the No. 6 team in the country.
The Michigan Wolverines were the only other unbeaten team in the Big Ten heading into Saturday. For about two and a half quarters, it looked like they would retain their perfect record, taking a 30-14 lead in the third. However, Michigan State came storming back to win the game 37-33 propelled by a stellar five touchdown performance from Kenneth Walker III.
The Big Ten now has three teams in the top ten. Ohio State dropped down a spot to No. 6, and the Wolverines fell to No. 9. Iowa tumbled down to No. 19 after losing 27-7 to Wisconsin in Camp Randall.
The Spartans were ranked sixth in both the USA Today Coaches Poll and the Student Media Poll.
