Undefeated, MSU football has risen in Week 4 ranks

Now 3-0 overall, Mel Tucker's MSU football team has found themselves ranked at No. 20 going into Week 4 of the collegiate season AP Poll.

The team defeated the University of Miami (Florida) 38-17 on Saturday afternoon, following a 38-21 victory over Northwestern that opened their 2021 season and a 42-14 home debut victory on Youngstown State last weekend.

The top two teams have not moved since last week and remain with No. 1 Alabama and No. 2 Georgia. Oklahoma was shot down from No. 3 to No. 4, being replaced by Oregon.

Here is where the teams stand in Week 4:

The Spartans were also ranked No. 21 in the USA Today AFCA Coaches Poll – above No. 22 Oklahoma State, No. 23 Auburn, No. 24 UCLA and No. 25 Fresno State – and the college student media poll – above No. 22 UCLA, No. 23 Fresno State, No. 24 Virginia Tech and No. 25 Auburn.

Miami was previously ranked at No. 22 by the student media poll, but their loss to the green and white has since dropped them off the board.
