The East Lansing Police Department was called to a shooting at The Quarters apartment complex located on Abbott Road, north of Lake Lansing on May 16.

Deputy Chief Steve Gonzalez confirmed in an email that there were five victims with injuries ranging from significant non-life-threatening to life-threatening injuries. One is a confirmed Michigan State University student.

ELPD does not have anyone in custody and no arrests have been made. Information regarding potential suspects has not been released. Detectives are working active leads on the case, Gonzalez said in the email.

Gonzalez told the Lansing State Journal that the shooter had an intended target, stating that it was not a random shooting. ELPD believes there was "one main shooter."

Anyone with information on the shooting can contact Lt. Scot Sexton at 517-319-6916.
