The Michigan State gymnastics schedule for the 2021 campaign was released by the Big Ten Conference office Monday afternoon.

The Spartans will be competing in conference only, eight times. Only five Big Ten opponents will count toward official conference standings, while two Big Ten opponents will not. The schedule looks as follows:

January

  • 22-24 at Maryland β€” conference meet
  • 29-31 versus Nebraska β€” conference meet

February

  • 5-7 at Ohio State β€” conference meet
  • 12-14 versus Minnesota β€” conference meet
  • 19-21 at Illinois β€” conference meet
  • 26-28 Big Five meet β€” location undecided

March

  • 5-7 versus Michigan β€” non-conference meet
  • 12-14 at Ohio State β€” non-conference meet
  • 19-21 Big Ten Championships β€” location undecided

Due to the delayed start because of the pandemic, the Big Ten had to shorten the schedule. This shot requirements down to at least three home meets and at least four road meets, along with the two multi-group meets.

Similarly, there are no specific dates tagged to matchups yet. Rather, there is a time chunk, or "weekends of," where the meets can and will occur.

All information is subject to change, and nothing will be set in stone quite yet. MSU will announce further information about things like fan attendance, television and streaming and the postseason on their athletics page in the near future.
