1st half of MSU hockey schedule released

November 5, 2020

The Big Ten released the first half of the 2020-2021 hockey season schedule Thursday afternoon.

Big Ten teams will play 24 conference games against each other in addition to 4 games by each team against Arizona State University.

The first puck will drop two weeks from today on Nov. 19 at the newly renovated Munn Ice Arena as the Spartans host No. 15 Arizona State.

The Spartans will then travel to Columbus to take on No. 10 Ohio State over Thanksgiving weekend in what will likely be the Spartans' most difficult matchup of this first-half schedule. The Spartans and Buckeyes faced each other four times last season with OSU winning all four games from a scoring margin of 3-10.

MSU will then host four consecutive home games with the first set against No. 14 Minnesota on Dec. 3 and 4 and the second against Wisconsin on Dec. 8 and 9.

They will then finish off the fall semester by traveling to take on No. 20 Notre Dame, who the Spartans went 2-2-0 against in 2019, on Dec. 19 and 20.

Times for the games have yet to be determined. Fans will not be allowed in attendance.

Last year’s team finished with an overall record of 15-19-2 and a conference record of 11-11-2. The season came to an end March 7 at the hands of Michigan in the Big Ten Tournament.
