Michigan State football coach Mark Dantonio has announced his retirement via Twitter.

The announcement shook the public.

Former Michigan State football players senior linebacker Joe Bachie, senior quarterback Brian Lewerke and now-offensive tackle for the Tennessee Titans Jack Conklin posted their thanks, alongside the Michigan State official football program page and player personnel coordinator Butler Benton.

Even Dantonio's daughter, Lauren Dantonio, sent a message to her dad.

Other people to respond to the shocking news were women's basketball coach Suzy Merchant, Michigan State's infamous Barstool page, the Michigan State Alumni Office and Michigan State on BTN, who personally got a reaction from men's basketball coach Tom Izzo.

More replies came from other reporters on the block.
