The suspect arrested in connection with alleged robbery and sexual assault of three female victims on Jan. 24 was arraigned over the weekend, according to a statement from the East Lansing Police Department, or ELPD.
Lamont James Rodgers, a Detroit resident, was arrested on Jan. 24 and later charged with six counts of criminal sexual conduct in the first degree, three counts of armed robbery, one count of home invasion in the first degree, one count of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder by strangulation, and six counts of a felony firearm, according to the statement.
Rodgers' charges stem from an incident in which three female victims were sexually and physically assaulted after Rodgers allegedly entered their apartment through an unlocked door, armed with a handgun, according to a statement from ELPD. The apartment is located on the 2500 block of Abbot Road.
The three female victims were Michigan State students, ELPD Deputy Chief Steve Gonzalez said.
Rodgers, 24, is being held without bond pending further court appearances, according to the statement.
