After sweeping the Wolverines for the first time since 2009 last week, the Spartans (5-5) will look to stay hot, as they meet No. 3 Notre Dame (8-1-1) for a two game series at Munn Ice Arena.

The game will prove to be an early season test for the unranked, five win, five loss Spartan team. While keeping their head right around the even mark to start the season, the Green and White have gained momentum as of late.

Coming off a comeback 4-3 victory in Ann Arbor and a 3-0 shutout at home, against their rivals, Michigan, Michigan State will look to keep their momentum going against the highly ranked Fighting Irish.

No. 3 has only suffered one loss through their first 10 games, in what has proved to be an uncharacteristic 3-0 shutout courtesy of Wisconsin.

Michigan State has yet to meet Wisconsin in Big Ten play, but currently stand at 3-1 in the Big Ten after sweeping the Wolverines.

Although unranked, the Spartans should prove to be a difficult match for Notre Dame, as they have momentum on their side.

The Irish have seen their fair share of Big Ten opponents in the season, sweeping No. 11 Ohio State and finding a win against both Minnesota and No. 16 Wisconsin. But, the Big Ten has also been a source of trouble for Notre Dame as they have seen both their only loss and only tie coming from the conference.

Michigan State will hope to keep their momentum from Michigan week alive, and act as another Big Ten disrupter in what has been a strong start to No. 3's season.

The Spartans take the ice both Friday and Saturday against No. 3 Notre Dame at 7 p.m., at Munn Ice Arena.
