A graduate student in the department of Writing, Rhetoric and American Cultures was robbed at knifepoint outside of Bessey Hall on Monday night.

The student was left physically unharmed and their wallet was found nearby, but missing the cash it contained.

WRAC Chair, Jacqueline Rhodes reported the incident in an email to the department, describing that a number of faculty attended to the victim.

Rhodes also adresses the danger of being alone in the dark around campus due to the time of year. She suggested ride sharing or using ASMSU's free Safe Ride Program.

A Michigan State University Police Department representative said they have not received a report on this incident, but they are currently investigating it.

The State News has contacted Rhodes and MSUPD and is waiting for further information on the incident.
