20-year-old moped driver dies in collision near MSU

A 20 year-old male died on the morning of Friday, Oct. 18 after a collision with a pickup truck as he turned his moped from Hagadorn Road to Mount Hope Road, according to a brief released by the Meridian Police Department.

Police identified the moped driver as Michigan State student Sebastian Alexander Tyll of Fenton, Michigan at about 10:00 a.m. Saturday Oct. 19

Investigators with the department do not suspect alcohol to be involved.

The driver of the pickup truck was wearing a seatbelt, and the moped driver was wearing a helmet when the accident happened.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
