Michigan State football (4-1), after squeaking by the Hoosiers (3-2) last Saturday, remains at no. 25 in this week’s AP poll. The Spartans are currently tied with the Texas A&M Aggies for the no. 25 spot after the Aggies defeated Arkansas 31-27.
No. 8 Wisconsin and no. 12 Penn State remained unchanged in the AP poll as the Nittany Lions pitched a shutout at Maryland, winning 59-0. The Michigan Wolverines got back on track by demolishing Rutgers 52-0, which helped them move from no. 20 to no. 19 in this week's poll. The no. 14 Iowa Hawkeyes continued their hot start by defeating Middle Tennessee State 48-3.
Michigan State’s next opponent, Ohio State, continued their dominance in a 48-7 win over Nebraska and landed at no. 4 in this week's poll, setting up a top-25 match-up between the Spartans and Buckeyes next week.
