Sidney Cooks announces departure from MSU women's basketball

On Friday, Apr. 12, sophomore forward Sidney Cooks announced that she would not be returning to Michigan State for her junior season.

Cooks said on Twitter, “After many thoughts, prayers, and of course talking to the people in my life that mean the most, I have decided that I will not be returning to Michigan State University.”

She has not announced specific plans for transferring to any potential schools.

Cooks started eight games for the Spartans this season and played a major impact in the post during MSU’s NCAA tournament run, averaging 9.5 points and 4.5 rebounds during her sophomore campaign.
