Buffalo Wild Wings, or BDUBS to some, was created in 1982 by Jim Disbrow and Scott Lowery, who moved from Buffalo, New York to Ohio.The two were craving New York-style wings so it gave them two options — open up a wing shop or take the trip to New York. The duo gave us a wing shop.
The wing shop was first called Buffalo Wild Wings & Weck, where only music videos were played on the television. But after a customer asked for the Ohio State game, there was an increase in the sports-centered environment, similar to the one we see today.
Fun fact: Back in the 90s, the franchise offered 20-cent wings every Tuesday.
