The Spartans fell 79-62 to the Badgers on Feb. 14 in an upset on the road. Back-to-back 20+ point games for redshirt junior guard Shay Colley, who had 24 points and nine rebounds against Wisconsin, has made Colley a team leader on both sides of the ball. Freshman guard Nia Clouden had 16 points and redshirt junior forward Victoria “Coco” Gaines had 12 rebounds in the road loss, securing the 3-6 road record.

The Cornhuskers lost to No. 7 Maryland, 89-63 on Feb. 14. Led by junior guard Nicea Eliely’s 18 points and sophomore center Kate Cain’s eight rebounds, Nebraska was not able to pull off the win, making them 3-9 on the road.

Nebraska is 7-5 at home, while Michigan State continues to struggle on the road.

The Spartans have stayed consistent with their starting lineup this season, Colley, Clouden, senior center Jenna Allen, junior guard Taryn McCutcheon and sophomore Sidney Cooks.

The Cornhuskers have a similar story and have stuck with Eliely, Cain, junior guard Hannah Whitish, sophomore guard/forward Taylor Kissinger and senior forward Maddie Simon.

Michigan State’s Allen is seeking to reach the 1,000 point mark and is six points away.
