Michigan State men's soccer will compete against the USL League One team, Lansing Ignite FC, for the Inaugural Capital Cup. The match will be at 7 p.m. on April 16, at the Cooley Law School Stadium.

Capital Cup tickets are included in LIFC season tickets. Single-game tickets will be available in March at the MSU Athletic Ticket Office and online.

"MSU soccer is really excited to start a great relationship with Lansing Ignite, and I can't think of a better way than the Capital Cup at Cooley Law School Stadium," MSU men's soccer coach Damon Rensing said in a press release. “The greater Lansing area has a very strong soccer community and the combination of MSU soccer and the Ignite will serve that community almost year-round.

"I have seen the success of the Crosstown Showdown with our baseball team and the Lugnuts and hope that the Capital Cup will have a similar atmosphere. It should be a great game.”

MSU ended their season with a 14-5-4 record, reaching the NCAA College Cup for the first time in 50 years.

The 2019 season will bring back two of its top scorers, midfielder Giuseppe Barone and forward Farai Mutatu.
