A top-15 match-up, the Spartans will be in familiar territory, facing higher-ranked opponents, in this tough competition against the Gophers. 

The No. 15 Spartans (11-3, 1-2 Big Ten) will face the No. 12 Minnesota Golden Gophers (12-1, 1-1 Big Ten) on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. at the Breslin Center, where Michigan State remains undefeated this season. 

The Spartans are shooting 48 percent from the field, 41 percent from behind the arch and 68.3 percent from the free throw line. Jenna Allen leads the team in field goals made, shooting 56.1 percent while Taryn McCutcheon is shooting 42.7 percent from behind the arch.

The Gophers are shooting 42.9 percent from the field, 31.1 percent proficiency for three-pointers and 67.3 percent from the free throw line. Annalese Lamke is shooting 60.2 percent from the field and Jasmine Brunson is shooting 45 percent from the three-point range. 

Allen, the 6-foot-4-inch center, will be matched up against Lamke, who stands at 6 feet, 3 inches. The match-up will be physical from the start. 

McCutcheon, the 5-foot-5-inch guard for the Spartans will face 5-foot-8-inch Brunson as the starting guards for their respective teams. 

The Spartans starting line-up will likely consist of senior center Jenna Allen, freshman guard Nia Clouden, junior guard Taryn McCutcheon, redshirt junior forward Victoria Gaines and either redshirt sophomore forward Mardrekia Cook or redshirt junior guard Shay Colley. 

Minnesota’s starting line-up will likely be senior center Annalese Lamke, redshirt senior guard Kenisha Bell, sophomore guard Destiny Pitts, junior forward Taiye Bello and junior guard Jasmine Brunson.
