PREVIEW: No. 22 Spartans get ready Nittany Lions at home

Who: The No. 22 Spartans (15-5, 5-4 Big Ten) and Penn State (10-10, 3-6 Big Ten) 

When: Jan. 31 at 7 p.m. 

Where: Breslin Center, East Lansing 

TV: BTN Plus

The Spartans are coming off a 77-73 road win against in-state rival Michigan from Sunday afternoon. This win broke the Spartans away game losing streak, going 0-4 since Jan. 3, boosting Michigan State’s morale going into the final month of regular season play. 

The Spartans are shooting 46.4 percent from the field, led by Jenna Allen, shooting 54.1 percent and 39.9 percent from three point range, led by Taryn McCutcheon, shooting 43.6 percent. 

Penn State is coming off a 69-61 loss to No. 17 Rutgers. 

The Nittany Lions are shooting 39.8 percent from the field, led by junior guard Siyeh Frazier, shooting 45 percent and 29.8 percent from behind the arch, led by senior guard Amari Carter, shooting 36 percent. 

The Spartans will most likely stick to their most consistent starting lineup made up of senior center Jenna Allen, freshman guard Nia Clouden, junior guard Taryn McCutcheon, redshirt junior guard Shay Colley and sophomore forward Sidney Cooks. 

Penn State has consistently started senior guard Teniya Page, junior guard Siyeh Frazier and sophomore forward Alisia Smith. The rest of the lineup may consist of a combination of senior guard Amari Carter and freshman guard Karisma Ortiz.
