Volleyball adds Oklahoma grad transfer for 2019

January 9, 2019

The Michigan State volleyball team announced the addition of setter, Audrey Alford for the 2019 season.

Alford, now a grad student at MSU, spent the last four years as a member of the Oklahoma volleyball team but had a year of eligibility left after redshirting her senior season.

“Audrey brings us a seasoned collegiate background and an a maturity within the game of volleyball due to her experience in the Big 12," MSU coach Cathy George said. "She has a very high volleyball IQ, as she has been immersed in collegiate athletics and high-level volleyball her entire life, and that perspective will be valuable with what will once again be a fairly young MSU team in 2019."

At Oklahoma, Alford averaged 9.35 assists and 1.72 digs per set. She started a total of 75 matches for the Sooners. After playing in 24 matches her junior year, she would go on to redshirt in her final season.

Off the court, Alford was a three-time First-Team Academic All-Big 12 selection.

She will join with newcomers Hannah Grant, Biamba Kabengele and Emma Monks, who will come in as freshmen next season after signing back in November.
