Will Witt, a prominent conservative figure on different social medias, spoke on Monday night to a small group at MSU about how he believes the First Amendment is often pushed to the side on college campuses.

Witt is a personality on the YouTube page "PragerU," where he travels to various universities and demonstrations asking political questions to a wide variety of people.

In his lecture to MSU students, Witt talked about his view of how college campuses have turned into establishments to push the agenda of the Democratic Party and leave out a great deal of conservative rhetoric that deserves to be heard.

“Realizing (college campuses) are indoctrination camps, you realize why it is that way, and it’s a lot because of the way the left controls words,” Witt said.

Witt also said large technology companies are deploying some of the same tactics universities are to suppress conservative views. According to Witt, PragerU is suing YouTube for restrictions being unfairly enacted upon their content.

The real fight for the conservative message is on social media, Witt said.

“To think that there isn’t something we should do about this big tech censorship and how they are controlling the voices online, I think it is imperative (that something is done),” Witt said.

With so few places around the globe still in a system with free speech, America is one of the last hopes for free speech to flourish, according to Witt.

“There are few people who get to decide the fate of what happens in this world,” Witt said. “And it’s time for all of you guys to join those people.”
