In October, the Potter Park Zoo in Lansing gets spooky for "Boo at the Zoo" on three different weekends.

The zoo will be open from noon to 5 p.m. on the weekends of Oct. 13 and 14, Oct. 20 and 21 and Oct. 27 and 28. Visitors are encouraged to dress in costumes and participate in all the Halloween-themed events the zoo has to offer.

There will be free activities for kids of all ages and their families to participate in, including a straw maze, candy stations and other activities throughout the zoo.

Visitors can purchase strip tickets — four tickets for $5 — and use them for a trip through the Boo Tunnel, a hayride or a doughnut and cup of cider.

In addition to the Boo at the Zoo festivities, there will be a sensory-friendly version of all activities from 5-7:30 p.m. Oct. 19. During this time, the zoo will be closed to the public but open to those who pre-register to enjoy the events without the crowds. Costumes are still encouraged and there will be games, cider and doughnuts, animal encounters and more.

Tickets can be purchased at the gate or online for any of the three upcoming Boo at the Zoo weekend dates.

For residents of Ingham County, admission is $6 for adults and $5 for seniors over 60. For non-residents, admission is $12 for adults and $11 for seniors over 60.

Admission for all children ages 3-12 is $4 and all children under three are free.
