MSU student fatally shot early Friday morning

A 22-year-old male MSU student is dead after suffering a gunshot wound early Friday morning, according to a press release from the East Lansing Police Department (ELPD).

After reports of fighting and gunshots, ELPD arrived on the scene at the 2500 block of Chandler Road around 2:45 a.m., according to the press release. They found the victim wounded.

The victim was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The shooting is under investigation and officers at the scene determined there is no immediate danger to the public.
