College students are invited to take a study break on Sept. 30 in celebration of Potter Park Zoo's "College Day" event.

Individuals who present a valid student I.D. can get free admission to the zoo's exhibits from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Students of any college or university, plus any children of students, are welcome.

According to the Potter Park Zoo Welcome Center, there will be an enrichment event where visitors can interact with the animals while showing their pride for either MSU or the University of Michigan.

From 1 to 3 p.m., there will be a 'Tailgate with the Animals,' where animals will be eating football-themed treats and making predictions about which team will win at MSU and U-M's Oct. 20 football game. The event is included with regular admission.

The zoo encourages students to wear their school colors in recognition of the match-up between MSU and U-M.

Potter Park Zoo is located on 1301 South Pennsylvania Ave. in Lansing. Individuals interested in learning more about the zoo or planning a visit can do so here.
